THE TRUTHFUL TREASURE HUNT!

Family Night Activities August 5, 2011 Calendar:

GOD IS TOTALLY TRUTHFUL!

This purpose of this activity is to give your children the keys to freedom by teaching them that there is absolute truth and that truth begins with our Totally Truthful God.

Preparation:
1. Go to our website athttp://dg4kids.com/. Click on Family Adventures, God is Totally Truthful, and then click on the A button of Abide or follow this link: http://dg4kids.com/activity/activity-god-is-merciful/ 2. Gather items that you can hide for your child to discover. 3. Prepare the treasure map or list of clues to show them where to find the treasures. (You can be as creative as you want, but be sure the directions for finding the clues are clear and concise.)

Let s get started!

After all of the treasures are hidden and your map or list of clues is created, let your children begin the treasure hunt.

Discuss:
1. What if the instructions for the treasure hunt were wrong? What would happen if you went into the bathroom instead of the bedroom? Would you find the treasure? 2. What if the treasure wasn t where it was supposed to be even after following all the directions exactly as you were instructed? 3. What is the greatest treasure God has for us? 4. What are God s instructions for us in order to receive this treasure?

Bringing it to a close:
The Bible is God s treasure map and instruction manual. If you follow its instructions, you will always find the treasure! A relationship with Him is the greatest of all treasures and He wants us to find it! You can count on God s Word to be totally truthful because God is Totally Truthful. He will never lie to you. His promises can always be trusted. Every word of God proves true.
