Be the voice of Zainab!

Zeinab Jalalian, 27, was born in the city of Makoo in Iran. She was arrested in May 2008 in the city of Kermanshah, and was charged with waging war against God (Mohareb) and also belonging to Pejak (a banned political organisation) and sentenced to death; she has denied all the charges. Zeinab was initially kept in general section of Kermanshah prison, but at the end of May 2010 when the court confirmed her sentence she was transferred to the Enforcement section of the prison where they keep prisoners awaiting execution. In her trial which only took a few minutes she was denied access to a lawyer, and during the trial she repeatedly requested to have an access to a legal representative, but her request was ignored. In a short note to the outside world on 26/11/2009, Zeinab wrote:
To Human Rights Organisations: My name is Ms Zeinab Jalalian. I am a 27-year-old Kurdish female political prisoner in Iran. My death sentence was confirmed by the Iranian Supreme Court. I am currently ill because I have been tortured, and I dont have any lawyer to defend me. My trial took only few minutes and I was told by the Court that: You are an enemy of God and you must be executed. I asked the judge to give me permission to say good bye to my mother and family before my execution. He told me to shut up and rejected my request.

Zeinabs execution sentence is confirmed and she is in imminent danger of being executed. Her execution sentence can be carried out at any moment. Since the announcement of her death sentence thousands of people held demonstrations across the world to pressure the Islamic Regime of Iran to halt her execution. We need to continue our protest until her death sentence is overturned and she is freed. Zeinabs request to see her mother was silence by the judge and her right to have a lawyer was fiercely denied. Zeinab was sentenced to death in only five minutes in a kangaroo court. Despite all these she still managed to write a letter to the outside world in to make her voice to be heard. We must echo her voice. We must not allow the Islamic regime to silence Zeinabs voice. She must not be executed. We have dedicated this week of our campaign to Zeinab Jalalian so join us and be the voice of Zeinab! Let her voice be heard all around the world!

I express my strongest protest against the imprisonment and the death sentence of Zeinab Jalalian. The Islamic regime must be put under pressure to overturn Zeinabs execution sentence and to free her immediately.

I am the voice of Zeinab!
