Production & Operations Management Introduction: Production management is the study of all the processes that are concerned

with the production of quality goods and services. It involves ensuring that business operations such as production function, design and product performance are both efficient and effective. It also involves the management of all the efforts and activities of people, equipment and other resources of the organization in changing raw material into finished goods. The coordination between five Ms (Man, Machine, Material, Money and Method) takes place with the help of sixth M i.e. Management. This is what Production and Operations management is all about. It is concerned with production of goods and services and is responsible for ensuring that these operations are efficient and effective. In other words, Production and Operations Management refers to the management of efforts and activities of people, equipments and other resources of the organization in changing raw material into finished goods and services.
