Readme Changing Printer's Symbol Settings If your printer's symbol setting was not automatically or correctly set during

i nstallation, you can set the symbol setting manually. Place the HP LaserJet 1150 /1300 CD in the CD-ROM drive and from a DOS prompt type: copy /b x:\SYMSET\ukra inesym.pjl LPT1 (where x is your CD-ROM drive, PC866UKR (Ukraine) is the desired symbol set and LPT1 is the port where your printer is connected). In each symbol set file, we tried to select the most common symbol set. If the w rong one is selected, you can modify the selection by substituting the code afte r the = sign. See the example below: Original file is listed below: @PJL @PJL @PJL @PJL DEFAULT COMMENT COMMENT COMMENT LPARM:PCL SYMSET= PC8GRK PC851GRK ISOGRK GREEK8

To modify the symbol set from PC8GRK to GREEK8, replace the desired code found a fter the @PJL COMMENT remark behind the PCL SYMSET= . See the example below: @PJL DEFAULT LPARM:PCL SYMSET= GREEK8

NOTE: The "" (box character) must be replaced with the "escape" character, also known as ASCII 027 or ASCII 27. This character can be generated in the DOS edit or called "edit" by following this example: - click on Start, Programs, Command Prompt. - type "edit" (without the quotes) at the C:\> prompt, then press the Enter key. - press [ Ctrl ] and [ p ] keys simultaneously, followed by the [ Ctrl ] and [ [ ] (the left bracket "[") keys simultaneously. A left-pointing arrow should app ear on the screen, this is the "escape" character. - type the rest of the command that you want, such as: %-12345X@PJL @PJL DEFAULT ORIENTATION=LANDSCAPE NOTE: Once again, the "" (box character) above must be replaced with the "escape" character. Save the file you created (example: greek8sym.pjl) on your PC hard drive. Copy t he file to your printer - from a DOS prompt, type: copy /b x:\greek8sym.pjl LPT1 (where x is your hard drive, and LPT1 is the port where your printer is connect ed).
