Heat Exchanger Analysis

Assumptions:
1. The overall heat transfer coefficient is uniform throughout the heat exchanger 2. Potential and kinetic energy changers are negligible 3. The specific heat capacities of the fluids are constant 4. Axial heat conduction along the wall is negligible.

5. Heat exchange takes place only between the two fluids. [outer surface of the heat exchanger is insulated]
6. The temperature of both fluids are constant over a given cross section. May be represented by their bulk mean temperature.
