The cl inical manifestations include Horner's syndrome and paralysis of the soft palate , pharynx, and vocal cords. In some cases there also may be paralysis of the sup erior constrictors of the pharynx, numbness of the soft palate, fauces, and lary nx, loss of taste of the posterior one third of the tongue, and paralysis of the sternocleidomastoid and trapezius muscles.
