Life History
Mark Elliot Zuckerberg was born on May 14, 1984. He is an American computer programmer and Internet entrepreneur. He is best known for creating the social networking site Facebook, of which he is chief executive and president. It was cofounded as a private company in 2004 by Zuckerberg and classmates Dustin Moskovitz, Eduardo Saverin, and Chris Hughes while they were students at Harvard University. In 2010, Zuckerberg was named Ti me magazine's Person of the Year. As of 2011, his personal wealth was estimated to be $13.5 billi on. Mark Zuckerberg's Facebook was a key spark in the spread and organization of the recent revolts in Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen and Libya. Back home President Obama praised Facebook as an example of American innovation
in his January State of the Union Address. A month later Zuckerberg sat next to Obama at a dinner with other tech titans like Steve Jobs, Eric Schmidt, Larry Ellison and John Doerr. Over the last year the 26-year-old's fortune surged 238% to $13.5 billion as investments from firms like Goldman Sachs boosted Facebook's valuation to $50 billion. He went on to become the youngest billionaire in the world according to FORBES report 2011. A movie was produced based on Zuckerberg and the founding years of Facebook, called The Social Network. The film is based on the book The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich. The movie is a depiction based on the book describing the birth of facebook and legal battles faced by Facebook founder Mark Zuckerburg.
Inspirational Qualities
Mark Zuckerberg has revolutionized the world by allowing millions of individuals and organizations from around the globe to effortlessly, yet instantaneously, communicate and build relationships with friends and peers through cyberspace. Zuckerbergs social community allows individuals to network while allowing them to celebrating individualism. Mark Zuckerbergs primary leadership quality is that of an analyzer, considering one of his known characteristics is that of persistence in the creation and launch of a social network from his dorm room and strong interest in science and data through computer programming. His personal qualities also include being non-threatening and goal-oriented. His secondary leadership quality is classified as being a promoter, due to his imaginative, insightful, and highly creative nature. One of his most pivotal turning points was during the period he was living in California with friends, deciding to drop out of Harvard to become an entrepreneur. During this time, he was already dealing with offers to purchase Facebook from large companies. He soon propelled into the corporate world, becoming one of the top "most influential people of the Information Age.
