April 28, 1888-Via steamer BELGIC, Rizal arrived in San Francisco, USA.

He stayed in Palace Hotel for 2 days May 6,1888- he went to Oakland via ferryboat. VIA TRAIN May 7 -He went to Sacramento, and then to Nevada where he saw Indian attire and semi-Indian suit May 8-the train passed through Ogden where he viewed Salt Lake City.
May 9- at Colorado, he saw thick pines and tunnels

May 10- train arrived in Nebraska where he saw the Missouri River(twice as big as Pasig River) May 11 -in Chicago he saw the Niagara Falls. May 13 -train arrived in Albany City, and there he viewed the Hudson River(last city he visited, stayed for 3 days)He toured the memorial of Gorge Washington and viewed the statue of Liberty. May 16- he left and boarded the ship City of Rome bound for Europe.

He stayed at Palace Hotel for only two days and started his tour via train.

The American health authorities placed the ship where Rizal was riding under quarantine because there was a Cholera Epidemic.

 George Washington one of the great men of New York whom visited his memorial. The 1st president of the US. The ship he rode was placed under quarantine because of political motivation. Rizal toured America for 20 Days.

In the US, Rizal witnessed the discrimination experienced by the Chinese and Japanese people from the Americans.

Rizal was so impressed with how the US government governed their country that he wanted to learn their ways so that he can share it with his fellow Filipinos.
