Current trends in facial rejuvenation is no longer focused on facial descent but depletion of facial volume. Therefore, volume restoration using autologous fat grafting is the method which the aging process can be corrected. In other patients who lost a lot of volume and too much excess skin, a facelifting procedure is needed to compliment the fat grafting.

A unique alternative to traditional facelift surgery and the usual cl a ss ic a l fa t in j ec ti o n is AC lif t , a co m b in a t io n o f th e simpl e MACS li ft and FAMI- (Fat Autog raft Muscle Injec ti on) technique which is a more advanced technique providing a longer lasting result. Guided by the current facelifting trends of volume versus tension, less invasive procedure, achievement of facial harmony and recognition of atrophy will lead us to a less invasive, more natural facelifting procedure and a longer lasting fat injection result.

The procedure is done as an outpatient procedure with a mandatory local anesthesia. Fat is harvested using a syringe, followed by high speed centrifugation to concentrate and separate the adult stem cells. Fat is grafted in thin strands to the muscles and bones of the face specially on the upper 2/3 of the face where there is volume

deficit, using a special blunt cannula to correct and rejuvenate, repair and restore the shape and contours of the face.

Faceli fting is done usi ng the simple MACS li ft, whose general principle is the vertical re-suspension of sagging facial soft tissues with permanently or slowly resorbable purse string sutures, anchored to the deep temporal fascia through pre-auricular incision correcting the lower 1/3 of the face including part of the neck.
