99-03 models may, if you like, remove the spacer, and fasten the fined cover to the base with the shorter screws provided.

PROCEDURE
STEP 1 Remove the 2 OEM nuts that secure the regulator in place. These nuts will not be
reused.

STEP 2 Place cover over regulator and fasten with provided cone nuts.
