Finding article citations:


1. Select a database to search 2. Break search into key terms 3. Refine search using limiters (pub. year or type, etc.) Databases to use: -ERIC ERIC Documents vs. Journal Articles Thesaurus -PsycINFO Psychology and sociology journals -Academic Search Complete All subject areas Write down everything! Title, Author, Journal, vol., issue, page numbers, year Or E-mail/save/print

Finding the text of the article:


1. Full-text or PDF from the database 2. Get it @ CSULB 3. Check Coast journal title search -Type in title of the journal (NOT the article title) 4. Inter-Library Loan -ArticleReach -ILLiad

Be sure to link from library home page. Do their tutorials. Create an account, if off-campus you will need to login with campus ID and library PIN Create collection of references Enter manually Or Import directly from databases and our catalog Organize into folders Share collections by creating an account to share Searching feature searches full-text of all fields including abstract Easily eliminate duplicates Backup your references to your own computer If you leave campus you can get an individual account to continue your access, or transfer your references to Endnote or Procite

Write-n-Cite
Off-campus o Download program and configure your computer Write-n-Cite in your Word Add-Ins toolbar. Click to open, login Click Cite when you want to enter a citation When done writing, click Bibliography, this will enter the citations in your chosen format, and create a list of sources. You can then edit the citations. If you need to make changes to your paper, you should edit the original and create a new bibliography when you are done. You can work with Write n Cite off-line, you must first download your database of references to your computer while on-line.
