    Effective September 13, 2011 the 6th Street Bridge will be closed for approximately 18 to 24 months for the demolition and replacement of the bridge. Slaton Avenue will be closed permanently on both the east and west intersection to 6th Street. This is a Georgia Department of Transportation project. They will be paying 90% of the cost and the SPLOST will pay the 10% balance.
