Case Background: S-Cube Corp, an MNC, has considerable stake in a popular football club in Kolkata, and is now planning to start its own football club with an adjoining training academy in the city. Given that there already exists considerable talent pool in the state of Meghalaya, and that people here are highly passionate about the game, the government of Meghalaya has approached S-Cube Corp for a proposal of setting up of the proposed football club with an attached academy in Meghalaya instead. Realising the importance of this project, the state government has promised to provide all possible support in order to ensure that S-Cubes venture is smooth and cost-effective. Your Task: You are an employee at S-Cube Corp. The companys CEO has asked you to determine whether or not it is feasible to accept Meghalaya governments proposal. For various reasons it is not possible for you to travel to Shillong to collect primary data. So you need to conduct secondary research and use your judgement in order to identify all possible enablers and hold-ups vis--vis setting up the club and academy at Meghalaya, suggest possible (and preferably multiple) solutions for resolving the hold-ups, decide as to what all specific assistances are required from the state government, etc. Based on your findings and judgement, conduct a thorough feasibility analysis of the proposal, and provide your recommendations to the CEO, while also mentioning all the assumptions you have made. You may use data of other football clubs/football academies to support your stance (provided that data is relevant to the case at hand). Should you recommend acceptance of the proposal, create a preliminary business case and charter a possible roadmap for the next 18 months for the project. Deliverables: You are required to prepare a Power Point presentation (.ppt or .pptx formats), of not more than 10 slides (excluding Title, Thank You and Reference slides), for the above mentioned task. Should you use any exhibits, please provide them in a Word document (.doc or .docx formats), of not more than 5 pages, clearly mentioning their sources. Criteria: Please form a team of not more than 2 members for the above task. The members can be of same or different academic years, but must belong to the same institute.
