Need yo help Bro..

I installed a network monitoring tool on suse 10 called Nagio s but i'm having a problem with connecting to the sql db as this software uses i t 4 storing its data but then i cannot connect even after using the right user n ame and pwd... any help... 15:25

by default nagios does not use any db 16:17 I have seen afew versions that use a DB but most times it stores in the info in flat files, text files and log files 16:17

funny it seems like it requirees a database... like sql.. i'm not sure but do u have a way round... 16:20

where did you download it from? 16:20 been using nagios for many years and it does not require DB 16:20 from the documentation on their website: 16:22 The only requirement of running Nagios is a machine running Linux (or UNIX varia nt) and a C compiler. You will probably also want to have TCP/IP configured, as most service checks will be performed over the network. 16:22 have you used nagios before? where did you download the one you are using? are y ou using 2.x or 3.x ? 16:23

nagios initial config can be a pain but its a good tool 17:27 you should also look at zenoss 17:27 after you learn nagios 17:27 use templates as much as possible 17:27 or and groups 17:27
