The United Way of Windham County announced today that Entergy Corporation has committed up to $100,000 to help Vermont residents recover from the damage caused by Hurricane Irene. Carmen Derby, executive director of the United Way of Windham County, said Entergy is awarding an immediate $50,000 grant to the agency and will match donations from Entergy employees and other businesses up to $50,000. All told, the fund drive has the potential of sending $150,000 or more to aid residents. We can't thank Entergy enough for their very generous contribution to this community. With this gift, Entergy has really stepped up to meet the needs of this community," Derby said. "We hope our friends in Windham County and beyond will respond quickly to the challenge for matching funds. One hundred percent of all donations will go directly to the Long-Term Disaster Relief fund for those impacted by the floods in Windham County." Michael Colomb, site vice president of Entergys Vermont Yankee plant, said, In times like these all members of a community must come together to help family, friends and neighbors get back on their feet. While theres no question the people of Vermont have the

strength and perseverance to overcome the damage left by Irene, everyone can use a helping hand now and then.
