GET OFF

Purpose: This drill teaches players the importance of watching the football, taking proper steps, and performing proper rip and get off. Tempo: Full speed -The players form lines across from an agility bag laying flat on the ground. -The players face the blocking dummy and get in a stance. -The coach gives a direction(right or left), which tells the players which way they are slanting. -The coach snaps a football and the players must explode out of their stance, rip by the bag, and stay low. -The players sprint to the end of the dummies. -The coach needs to be sure to yell a cadence and snap the ball at different times. COACHING POINTS 1. Stance with feet under hips. 2. Emphasize exploding out not up 3. Step with the slant side foot first 4. Punch through with the rip for low pad level 5. Sprint through the dummy.
