CALL FOR ENTRIES!

Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation and Development Authority (SCIDpda) invites you to participate in the 2nd annual photo contest featuring Little Saigon! This years theme is Vietnamese American. We would love to see everyones unique interpretation of what Vietnamese American means to them. Photos submitted for this contest should fall into one of the following four themes: culture, spaces & places, food, and the marketplace. The contest is open to all ages. We will be having a youth bracket for those under 18, as well as a general bracket for 18 and older. Culture: images that represent the Vietnamese culture, people or heritage of the area. Spaces & Places: buildings and streetscapes that define Little Saigon. Food: food enjoyed and bought in Little Saigon. The Marketplace: a local business in action in Little Saigon.

HOW TO ENTER Complete and submit an application, which includes: 1) An entry form found on page 2 of this form 2) A $10 entry fee, cash or checks made out to SCIDpda 3) A CD with a maximum of 10 photos, between 2-4 MB each in JPEG format. (Photos chosen for exhibition will be printed in 8 x 10 inch dimensions) 4) Send images to EXPOSEDlittlesaigon@gmail.com 5) Photo release forms (if applicable) Submit your completed application to Yvette Kieu: In person: SCIDpda 409 Maynard Ave S. GUIDELINES Each photo must be titled with the photographers name, category & photo name. Example: YvetteKieu_FOOD_Pho.jpg A photo release form needs to accompany images showing recognizable faces and can be found on our website Photos must be taken in Little Saigon (map on website: http://exposedlittlesaigon.blogspot.com/) PRIZES & WINNING PHOTOS The winning photos and at least one entry from each participating photographer will be exhibited in Little Saigon on December 3-4, 2011 from 11am to 5pm. Winners will be announced at the Artists Reception held on Saturday, December 3rd, 2011 from 5pm to 7pm. Category winners receive gift certificates from local businesses. The winning photos will also be exhibited at the Tet in Seattle 2012 Festival at the Seattle Center on January 21-22, 2012. Questions?
