British Army Career Progression For this AO I am going to be looking at the British army and there career progression

And the entry requirements for the British army e.g. educational, medical, fitness Eyesight and any criminal convictions. British Army ranks Lance Corporal-This is the first rank in the British Army. This rank is one of the hardest to get because you are taking on a big responsibly. Corporal Sergeant Staff Sergeant Warrant Officer Second Lieutenant Lieutenant Captain Major Lieutenant Colonel Colonel Brigadier Major General General Field Marshal-This is the highest rank in the British Army today. The origin of the rank of field marshal dates to the early middle Ages, originally meaning the keeper of the king's horses.

As you can see there are a lot of ranks in the British army and it would take you a long time get to Field Marshal. It would take you as little as 2-3 years to become a Corporal in the British Army. It would take you a few years to get to the rank of field marshal. A field marshal is the highest rank in the British Army and they command and create the tactics and plans for battles. In times of peace there is not a field marshal employed in the army. After you complete your basic training in the British Army you can start training in a certain area of the Army such as Medic, Sniper, Dog Training Etc certain area take longer to complete. Fitness training will be different for each area of the British Army but everybody who joins the army must go thought the fitness training involved in the basic training.
