BC TransCAER Training Event

October 29 30th , 2011 SALMON ARM, BC

The BC TransCAER Committee, Canadian Pacific, in conjunction with the Salmon Arm Fire Department will be hosting a TransCAER training session for all Emergency Services disciplines in Salmon Arm, October 29-30th, 2011. Utilizing the expertise of Railway personnel there will be classroom and hands-on sessions featuring the CCPX 911 Training car and a Locomotive. Other Instruction will be provided by Canexus and Trucking Company representatives. Transportation Emergency Response Service Providers will be on hand to display their equipment. Other static displays will be provided by Trucking companies. Lunch will be provided. The morning will consist of classroom presentations, followed by hands-on sessions in the afternoon.
The classroom portion of the course will cover: - Railroad Safety - Derailment Safety - Identifying Railcars and Components - Hazmat Derailments - Tank Cars - Railway Consists - Highway Cargo Tanks Field Portion using CCPX 911 and Locomotive: -Tank Car Construction -Chlorine Valves and Fittings -LPG and Anhydrous Ammonia Valves and Fittings -Corrosive Service Valves and Fittings -General Service Valves and Fittings -Locomotive - Highway Cargo Tanks and valves - Emergency Response Equipment
