On Electronic Communication Our thoughts and words move at the speed of light, And they now prove what we cannot retract, Though they may disappoint of else excite Those long committed to good will or tact. We now must ponder what has eagle's wings We now must ponder what we might delay, As what we'd send has voice and ever sings Of what we'd obfuscate or else betray. Hence we, dilemma bound, compelled to face Our hearts' quick "yes", or else our minds' quick "no", Must meditate or else pick up the pace Of writing what we feel compelled to show. Ah! we may yet say "yes", as friends may read What to express relates somehow to need.
