Thou shall not commit adultery.

According to the Church, humans are sexual beings whose sexual identity extends beyond the body to the mind and soul. The sexes are meant by divine design to be different and complementary, each having equal dignity and made in the image of God. Sexual acts are sacred within the context of the marital relationship that reflects a "complete and lifelong mutual gift of a man and a woman. Sexual sins thus violate not just the body but the person's whole being.

Adultery is the breaking of the holy bond between husband and wife, and is thus a sacrilege. This commandment includes not just the act of adultery, but lust as well. God gives man and woman an equal personal dignity. Everyone, man and woman, should acknowledge and accept his sexual identity. The tradition of the church has understood the sixth commandment as encompassing the whole of human sexuality.

Adultery -also called philandery or infidelity, is a form of extramarital sex -referred more specifically to sex between a woman who was married and a person other than her spouse.

Thou shall not covet thy neighbors wife.

Man and woman constitute two modes of imaging God and they fully accomplish such a vocation not only as single person but also in couples which are communities of love. 1st: in creating the human race God gives man and woman an equal personal dignity -endowing them with ineliienable rights and responsibilities proper to human person. Exploiting of women and emphasizesd the growing awareness of their dignity and equality with men.

2nd:distictive sexuality :man and woman are both different and complementary. By reaching to the depth of their moral and spiritual being 3rd: man and woman are called to mutual gift of self to a reciprocity -to live in apositive complementary relationship with one another the partnership of man and woman constitutes the first form of communion between persons and constitutes the basic form of co-humanity.

4th: sexuality is for love -Sexuality orients every man and woman toward interpersonal dialogue and contributes to their integral maturation by opening them up to the gift of self in love.

First: Tyranny of puritanical attitudes and misguided taboos regarding sexuality. -word puritan is often used as an informal pejorative for someone who has strict views on sexual morality,disapproves of recreation, and wishes to impose these beliefs on others -oppose things such as alcohol and open sexuality. Historically speaking, the Puritans were not opposed to drinking alcohol in moderation

Second: Tyranny of indecency new morality -exalts casual sex while rejecting commitment and moral obligation. (fornication& rape)

The Christian view sexuality and marriage is supported and developed by the biblical narrative of Gods relationship with Israel, his Chosen People, through salvation history. First there was the simple innocence of original creation when the man and his wife were both naked, yet they felt no shame (Gn 2:25). But sin entered and brought disorede into the couples relationship to God and to each other. The sexual relationship, while remaining fundamentally good, often became a divise force. Instead of feeling joy at the unique difference of the other sex, the partners experienced the selfish desire of possession (cf Gn 3:16) From a natural power of putward self-giving ingenuine love, the human sex drive became open to the temptation of turning back on itself-centered hedonism.

Premarital sex or Fornication -voluntary sexual intercourse between persons not married to each other -gravely contrary to the dignity of persons and of human sexuality which is naturally ordered to the good of spouses and the generation and education of children. -a grave scandal when there is corruption of the young.

Catholics believe that -should be saved for marriage and that premarital sex is a sin -deepest connection you could even achieve with another human

Extramarital sex or Adultery -generally defined as consensual sexual intercourse by a married person with someone other than his or her lawful spouse. -in earlier times by the legalistic term "alienation of affection Prostitution -does injury to the dignity of the person who engages in it, reducing the person to an instrument of sexual pleasure. - is the act or practice of providing sexual services to another person in return for payment -"prostitutes"

Homosexuality -relations between men or between women who experience an exclusive or predominant sexual attraction toward persons of the same sex. *Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that "homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered." They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved.

Masturbation -is to be understood the deliberate stimulation of the genital organs in order to derive sexual pleasure. *Both the Magisterium of the Church, in the course of a constant tradition, and the moral sense of the faithful have been in no doubt and have firmly maintained that masturbation is an intrinsically and gravely disordered action.

Artificial insemination -process by which sperm is placed into the reproductive tract of a female for the purpose of impregnating the female by using means other than sexual intercourse. -immoral because they dissociate procreation from the act with which the spouses give themselves to each other and so introduce the domination of technology over the origin and destiny of the human person.

Rape -any act of sexual intercourse that is forced upon a person. -statutory rape. -to force to have sexual intercourse. -is an intrinsically evil act that can cause grave damage to the victim for life. Incest -sexual intercourse between close relative that is either illegal in the jurisdiction where it takes place or socially taboo.

Pornography -Sexually explicit pictures, writing, or other material whose primary purpose is to cause sexual arousal. Wife swinging -the consensual practice of exchanging wives among married couples for private or group sex. Since women's lib, this term has given way to the less sexist expression

Abstinence-Only Education teaches abstinence as the only morally correct option of sexual expression for teenagers. It usually censors information about contraception and condoms for the prevention of STDs and unintended pregnancy.

Abstinence-Only-Until-Marriage Education teaches abstinence as the only morally correct option of sexual expression for unmarried young people. Abstinence-Centered EducationAnother term normally used to mean abstinence-only education. Comprehensive Sex Education teaches about abstinence as the best method for avoiding STDs and unintended pregnancy, but also teaches about condoms and contraception to reduce the risk of unintended pregnancy and of infection with STDs, including HIV.
