Tracing the History of Computer Viruses

The History
The first viruses were widely seen in the late 1980s because of several factors. One of the factors was the spread of PCs or personal computers. The second factor was the use of computer bulletin boards. People could just dial up a bulletin board using a modem and download programs of all types. (This lead to the precursor of the virus named Trojan Horse.) The third factor was the creation of the floppy disk. In the 1980s, you could fit any program in just a single floppy. When you insert it in your PC, it will load everything in it.

The First ever computer virus was invented in 1983 by Fred Cohen as an innocent experiment on his lab. Good thing that that virus did not escape thus not harming any computer. 1986: a virus named Brain was the first virus to run on a PC. It escaped from a lab and found at the University of Delaware a year after it has been invented. 1987: Viruses never hurt anybody, but bad kids started to invent destructive viruses, the firsts of this viruses is called Jerusalem Virus. It was Jerusalem Virus because it was first noticed at the Hebrew University of Israel. It is believed that this virus was invented by a programmer in Tel Aviv or Italy

1988: Magazines began running articles that Viruses were real because people did not believe that they exist. 1989: because of the viral threat, researchers began to invent anti-virus soft wares to be distributed. These anti-virus soft wares protect their computer from the 30 viruses that were invented so far.
