weeks Public Policy Preview Days. The Washington Auto Show takes seriously its role as the public policy show on the automotive show circuit as we draw together leading thinkers in industry and government to address the role of the automotive sector in moving the country forward. We begin our special preview events on Wed., Jan. 26, with the Green Car Summit on Capitol Hill. Scheduled from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in the Caucus Room of the Cannon House Office Building and produced with the Green Car Journal, the Green Car Summit features a high-level panel of industry leaders on the subject of energy security. A preview of the show itself takes place Thursday, Jan. 27, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. keynoted by GM North American President Mark Reuss, Public Policy Day at the show features a full lineup of major announcements and a first look at the shows Advanced Technology SuperHighway, a 65,000-square-foot exhibit of innovations in safe and sustainable technologies from electric and natural gas vehicles to biofuels and advanced engines. Jonathan Browning, President and CEO of Volkswagen Group of America and BMW North American President Jim ODonnell will also be delivering remarks. Thursdays events conclude with a Sneak Peek reception as well as a special tribute to the legendary automotive designer Shelby Carroll, who will receive the Keith Crain/Automotive News Lifetime Achievement Award.
