The Improvement of Mathematics Learning Achievement by Cooperative Learning Model with Type Numbered Head Together (NHT) through Contextual Approach at Year VIIIF of SMP Negeri 1 Galesong Utara. Thesis Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Univeritas Negeri Makassar. This inquiry was classroom action research to improve mathematics learning achievement of students. The subject of this research were 35 year VIIIF students of SMP Negeri 1 Galesong Utara period of 2010/2011. The data of research product were quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis. quantitative analysis collected by using learning product test at cycle I and cycle II and qualitative analysiscollected by using observation paper. Product of the research showed that (1) Mathematics learning achievement of students at the cycle I was low category which average score 60,31 from 100 as the ideal score by deviation standard 15,38 and finished of classically learning 51,43%. (2) Mathematics learning achievement of students at the cycle II was medium category which average score 74,71 from 100 as the ideal score by deviation standard 8,87 and finished of classically learning 88,57%. (3) The using of cooperative learning model with type Numbered Head Together (NHT) through contextual approach can improve mathematics learning achievement students of year VIIIF SMP Negeri 1 Galesong Utara.
