What is Media?

In general, "media" refers to various means of communication. For example, television, radio, and the newspaper are different types of media. The term can also be used as a collective noun for the press or news reporting agencies.

What is News Media ? The news media refers to the section of the mass media that focuses on presenting current news to the public. These include print media (Newspapers, Magazines); Broadcast Media( Radio stations, television stations, television networks), and increasingly internet - based media (World Wide Web pages).

Media plays an important role in giving RIGHT information at the right time to the people. But is the Media doing the right job today? Reading reports about the terrorist attacks in Mumbai sent shivers down my spine. Seeing the news on television made me realize the agony. However, giving a minute-by-minute coverage about important activities by the security services is surely not a wise move and can never be justified.
