Causes
Cervical cancer is caused by Human Papilloma Virus or HPV abbreviated. This virus is oncogenic (cancer causing). HPV virus types that cause cervical cancer are HPV types 16 and 18 However, other than caused by the HPV virus, abnormal cells on the cervix can also grow due to radiation exposure or contamination of chemicals that occur in the long term. Factors that support the occurrence of cervical cancer include: Married at a young age Smoke Long-term oral contraceptive use Pregnancy is often Sexually transmitted diseases

Treatments
Three main types of treatment for cervical cancer are surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy. Precancerous stage up to 1A typically treated with hysterectomy. For stage IB and IIA cervical cancer: When the tumor size <4cm: radical hysterectomy or radiotherapy with or without chemo When tumor size> 4cm: radiotherapy and cisplatin-based chemotherapy, hysterectomy, or cisplatin-based chemotherapy followed by hysterectomy Advanced-stage cervical cancer (IIB-IVA) can be treated with radiotherapy and cisplatin-based chemotherapy. In the very late-stage (IVB), the doctor may consider a combination of chemo drugs, such hycamtin and cisplatin.
