Computer crime or knows as cyber crime is a crime that involving computer use and networking. Hacking is the most popular context in computer/cyber crime. Computer Crime Act 1997 (CCA 1997) are including the offences due to the misuse of computers and complement the existing criminal legislation.

CCA 1997 covers crimes resulting in violation against the 3 principles of security CIA (Confidentiality, Integrity and Availability). CCA1997 consists of three parts which include Preliminary, Offense and Ancillary And General Provisions.

CCA 1997 cover the aspects of computer misuse: unauthorized access, unauthorized access with intent to commit or facilitate other crime and unauthorized modification. Protected the data or any program from being copy, remove, delete or alter without permission from the owner.

Computer Crime Act 1997 (CCA 1997) is the specific law that governs the misuse of computers in Malaysia. In this Part II of CCA 1997, there is Section 3 until Section 8. Section 3-Unauthorized access to computer material Section 4-Unauthorized access with intent to commit or facilitate commission of further offence Section 5-Unauthorized modification of the content of any computer Section 6-Wrongful communication Section 7-Abetments and attempts punishable as offences Section 8-Presumption.
