Dear <Title> <Last_Name>,

I am looking forward to having <Childs_Name> in my Kindergarten class this year.

As we all know, the transition to Kindergarten can be scary for children. With your
help we can make this a safe and enjoyable experience for your child. Attached you
will find a list of rules and procedures that will be used in my classroom. These will
be discussed with the students on the first day of class. I ask that you please take
the time to review these guidelines with <Childs_Name> and also sign saying that
you have read and understand. I will be available through email for any questions or
concerns that you may have before the first day of school. My email is

In addition to helping <Childs_Name> become adapted to the learning environment

and peers, we will be implementing a Kindergarten level curriculum. The children
will progress daily through direct and indirect instruction. A few of the major parts of
this curriculum will consist of the alphabet, phonics, counting, determining patterns,
recognizing American symbols, using and understanding calendars, weather, and
different parts of reading. I will gladly provide you with more information as we
begin the 2006 school year. Please feel free to get in touch with me for any
questions that you may have. Again, I am looking forward to working with your
superstar.
