Who distributes music videos?

Many music labels distribute them, and good example of this is Universal Music Group. They use them to promote their artists work and in turn generate profit. As well as this they discover, develop, market and distribute their work in 77 countries and represent 98% of the music industry. They own 20+ under labels that are incorporated into the overall label and mean that they own copyright over. Website: Universal Music Group use their website to promote all music thats been released recently and includes a section about the company which talks about their site VEVO which is powered by youtube and the website states it blends the very best in musical content with cutting-edge video technology

As well as this they have an entire section on their website dedicated to their music videos and rank them in most popular etc. as well as giving you the option to select your favourite genre and therefore people who enjoy the genre will get to view different artists and perhaps enjoy them! The screen shot below demonstrates this- displaying videos from different genres- aka appealing to everyone! This is good because it shows me how professionals try to promote videos and so- later on after I have produced my video I could use these techniques e.g link my music video with similar genres etcs.
