Christmas Pop-Up Card

Instructions: Print out the holiday card, then cut it out. Fold the card horizontally (away from you). With this first fold made, the Christmas scene should be facing you. Put the card on a flat, hard surface and cut out the window with a craft knife. You will be cutting through two layers of the card. Next, open up the card so that it lays completely flat with the graphics facing up. With the craft knife, cut along the three squiggly solid green lines that essentially divide the Christmas tree in thirds. Next, you will adjust the pop-up tree by folding the card lengthwise, so that the tree is folded in half (down the middle). Fold each section of the tree back and forth along the dashed tree line. This will allow the tree to pop out of the card when it is folded properly. Open up the card again, so that it is flat, with the graphics facing up. Make the first horizontal fold again, then carefully fold the left side of the card on top of the right side so that the words Joy! are showing through the gift tag. Have your kids write any special sentiments that they want to share on the back of the card.
