HR includes all the people employed In organisation who are working towards attaining organisational goals. HRM: HRM refers to art of managing, retaining and satisfying employee from the time of entering the organisation to till the time of leave the organisation.

HR is a critical part of any organisation and I retail, no exception. In retail organisation vast number of employees at the same place and the organisation has to retain these employees for longer duration through providing job satisfaction. Job satisfaction can be achieve by providing good salary, working condition, entertainment during leisure time and this process is over all handle by HR Department. Therefore the HRD is important in the retail organisation. Also retail sector faces high rate of attrition. Therefore continuous availability of new man power and their training is required. This is also done by HR Department. Also it is the duty of HRD to retain the best and competent employees with in organisation through recognition and performance appraisal for the growth and prosperity of the organisation.
