CANT YOU SLEEP LITTLE BEAR?

YEAR 1 TERM 2 Once upon a time there were not one but two bears who lived in a bear cave. Late one night Big Bear put Little Bear to bed in the dark, dark part of the bear cave. Big Bear settled down to read his interesting book. But Little Bear could not sleep. Cant you sleep Little Bear? said Big Bear. Im scared said Little Bear. Im scared of the dark What dark? said Big Bear. The dark all around us said Little Bear. So Big Bear put a tiny, twinkling lantern by Little Bears bed. (demonstrate lantern) But Little Bear could not sleep. Cant you sleep Little Bear? said Big Bear. Im scared said Little Bear. Im scared of the dark What dark? said Big Bear. The dark all around us said Little Bear. So Big Bear put a middle sized, metal lantern by Little Bears bed. (demonstrate lantern) But Little Bear could not sleep. Cant you sleep Little Bear? said Big Bear. Im scared said Little Bear. Im scared of the dark What dark? said Big Bear. The dark all around us said Little Bear. So Big Bear put a huge, heavy lantern by Little Bears bed. (demonstrate lantern)

Unfortunately Little Bear still did not go to sleep. Fortunately Big Bear had an amazing idea. Gently he led Little Bear outside and it was DARK. Im scared said Little Bear. Im scared of the dark What dark? said Big Bear. The dark all around us said Little Bear. Silently Big Bear pointed at the bright yellow moon and all the twinkly stars. But Little Bear didnt say anything, because he had fallen fast asleep. (head down)
