Second Hand Sling and Baby Carrier Marketplace Sellers Information Pack
Selling at the Second Hand Sling Sale:
You must register to sell by filling in both the form and declaration below and bringing it along to the event, together with a list of all items (plus accessories etc.) that you are bringing to sell. Registration costs 5, which will be deducted from your sales total. We wont charge the fee if you can volunteer at least 1 hour of your time to set up or mind one of the stalls, collecting payments, record sales or pack up at the end of the day. 10% from all sales will be taken as a commission and will go towards the costs of running the stall and the event, with any profits being donated to not-for-profit babywearing organisations to help promote babywearing. All slings brought along must be of high quality, clean, and in very good, safe condition. We cant accept carriers that are of a type that have been deemed potentially unsafe (such as bag-style slings), fake or counterfeit carriers, or that have any damage or un-tested alterations (e.g. home sewn or dyed carriers). Professionally converted carriers are fine as long as they bear the label of a reputable converting company. All carriers brought along will be checked by a qualified babywearing consultant to ensure than all slings for sale are approved as suitable. Please attach any instructions that you may have. All slings to be sold must be labelled using the guidance below and can be dropped off at any point during the day. Please find one of the babywearing consultants who will be there on the day to check it over before taking to them to the stall. They will be wearing badges to identify themselves, Becky on the Mama Natura stall will probably be the consultant thats easiest to track down. You may collect any unsold slings between 3pm-4pm on the day of the event. Any uncollected slings will be donated to local not-for-profit babywearing organisations to help promote babywearing. Any money taken on your behalf (minus the 10% commission and seller registration fee), will be paid to you within 2 weeks of the event by gifted Paypal or cheque.

Helping on the stall:

Your 5 sellers registration fee will be waived if you agree to help at the IBW London event for at least 1 hour during the day. If helping on the market place stall, please do not put aside or buy any slings until the event opens to make it fair for everyone. For each purchase, ensure youve taken the correct sales price on the label, and write a receipt for the customer with the carrier brand, name, model and price. Carefully remove the label from the carrier, mark it SOLD and store it safely. Please also tick next to the relevant carrier on the Sellers registration form list to indicate that it has been sold. The label is our record of the sale and will be used to ensure that both seller and the event can take the appropriate funds owed. At the end of the day, all monies will be collected and counted. Within 2 weeks of the event, the amount owed to each seller will be sent to them by gifted paypal payment or by cheque, and they will be emailed or sent a list confirming the carriers that were sold.

Labelling and Preparing carriers for sale:


Please ensure that all carriers you bring along are of high quality and are in clean condition and have been freshly washed if appropriate. We cannot sell any incomplete, damaged or home-made or home-altered carriers, or any fake or counterfeit slings. We cannot sell any bag style slings (e.g. Infantino sling rider, Premaxx baby bag, Munchkin cargo sling, Boppy carry in comfort, Lamaze close comfort or Wendy Bellissimo sling, or similar). Professionally converted carriers (e.g. Mei Tais or SSCs made from a woven wrap) will be allowed, provided that they bear the label of a reputable professional converting company. Attach any instructions or accessories firmly to the carrier or place all components in a clear plastic bag to help ensure that nothing is lost. We cannot be held responsible for any lost carriers or components/accessories/instructions. Please complete a paper or card label for every carrier with all of the information specified below, and attach this firmly to your carrier we suggest you use a safety pin, but no dressmakers pins as these hurt, or staples as these can damage the carrier. We cannot be held responsible for any damage to your carriers. Think carefully about your sales price unreasonably high prices will result in no sales! Were happy to help with guide pricing if you need it. Please only ask for prices of 5 increments as we will not have endless float available. If you dont, we will round the price up or down to the nearest 5. Please bring all carriers in a box or bag clearly labelled with your name and phone number this will help us to sort any unsold carriers at the end of the day. On your registration form you must complete the list of all items (including accessories etc.) that you have brought along to sell.

Label template and example - you may type or clearly handwrite your labels. We recommend that you purchase purpose made cardboard labels (you can print the information onto sticky labels to stick to these) with a string and safety pin to attach them to the carriers:

I confirm that I agree to the following: I understand that neither the IBW London event nor any of its associated organisations can accept any responsibility for any carriers, accessories or other items offered for sale that are lost/stolen/damaged during the sale although every effort will be made to prevent this happening. No payment will be made in respect of such items. I understand that the IBW London event will receive 10% of the proceeds raised by the sale of my goods. I understand that I must provide a bag or box with my name and phone number clearly on it for unsold goods to be sorted for collection. I understand that I am responsible for collecting my unsold goods by 4pm on the day of the event and that if they are not, they will be donated to a Sling Library or similar organisation. I conform that all my items are of a high quality and are in good, clean condition. I understand that all items will be checked before being offered for sale and that the event organisers reserve the right to withdraw any of my items not deemed suitable for sale. I understand that these items will be kept to one side for me to collect at the end of the sale I understand that I must prepare my goods with clear, securely and safely attached labels with all required information on them, and that they must be priced in 5 increments. I understand that if my labels do not meet these requirements, the price will be altered to the nearest 5 and if the label is missing or unclear then the item may be removed from sale. I understand that I must provide a clear list of all items I am offering for sale. I understand that I will receive a gifted Paypal payment or cheque within 2 weeks of the sale date, and that the IBW London event cannot take responsibility for payments not sent as a result of incorrect information given. If receiving payment by cheque, I enclose a stamped, self-addressed envelope.
