boom is a versatile sunshade and canopy system, a contemporary alternative to traditional exterior umbrellas. Inspired by sails, marine materials and technology, boom protects from rain or sun. The fabric is held within the profile until opened by a remote controlled motor allowing the bird like wings to gently extend to form the canopy. When shade is not required, the fabric is retracted and hidden from view, eliminating the ugliness of folded conventional umbrellas. The fabric is then safely protected from the elements, helping to keep it clean. The support for the shade is taken from either a freestanding structure or wall mounting. The cantilevered design enables easy horizontal positioning to maximize coverage, leaving the shaded area free from any obstruction.

A standard in-built wind sensor system automatically closes the canopy when the wind speed exceeds the comfortable operating limit. UV filtering is provided by the shade fabric giving additional sun protection.

The fabric colours are light fast and UV stable, thus remaining strong and vibrant for many years. SunSilk fabric is resistant to dirt, grease and water.
