GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To render health care services conducive to health promotion and disease prevention. SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES: To conduct health education. To assess the health condition of the students. To provide initial interventions. LEARNING INSIGHTS: School nursing is not already new for me because I have been exposed to different schools in my past rotations. Our activities were quite the same but the difference is the experience may be in emotional or social state. School nursing sounds like nothing will be acquired, in others own perception, but for me in order for us to be a competent nurse someday, we need to broaden our knowledge, not constantly focusing in the clinical settings rather giving also emphasis in the community because as they say health starts with yourself, in the family and in the whole society. It is your societys situation where health is being projected and it measures how active a nurse is. Nurses were not just entitled as nurse in the clinical setting alone, nursing is everything, anything that needs care require adequate skills and knowledge either in hospital setting or community setting. School nursing may be quite difficult in some ways and it is the means of modifying the behaviors of different people. Specific services may be basic but the most important factor is, you as a professional nurse have the knowledge on how to empower people and help them view health as the most important cornerstone of life.
