Exxon mobile is present in markets around the world where it operates both Upstream (oil exploration, oil extraction, oil transportation, and wholesale operations) and Downstream (marketing, oil refinement, gas stations and retail operations) activities. In 2008 their production accounted for 3% of world production which was the greatest of all private oil companies but less than many stateowned oil operations. Objective The objective is to identify research in bringing Exxon into the Soviet Union. This has been broken into the following sub-objectives: 1 To identify competition prevalent in the Soviet Union. 2 To explore valid market places where Exxon will generate the most revenue. 3 To determine what makes Exxons competitors do well. 4 To identify cultural appeals in how best to market Exxon in the Soviet culture. Research method: Use secondary research outlets such as the internet, financial databases, news papers, magazines, and books. Put together primary research such as, surveys and questioners. Travel to Soviet to do first hand research and interview the people of the Soviet. Interview executives of top Soviet oil companies Survey the land for the new potential oil plant.
