BALL SCREW ASSEMBLIES

1. Standard Range
Rexroth Ball Screw Assemblies do not only work with greater levels of accuracy and at higher speeds, they can also be supplied at very short notice. A wide range of precision screws and preloaded or adjustable-preload single and double nuts is available for all feeding, positioning and conveying tasks. From Rexroth you get a comprehensive range of nuts and precision screws. Matching nut housings and end bearing arrangements are also available in a number of different versions. You can use the order data to compile all nuts and screws (screw end machining included) as a complete ball screw assembly, view it in graphic form and submit it as an inquiry. With our 2D drawing generator you can generate your own drawing for your solution online.

2. eLINE Ball Screws

With eLINE ball screws it is now very easy to realize many different transport applications with standard products where customized solutions were often required in the past. eLINE ball screws are available ex stock, preassembled with nuts in screw-in or flange versions. With eLINE ball screws it is now very easy to realize many different transport applications with standard products where customized solutions were often required up to now. eLINE ball screws are available ex stock, preassembled with nuts in screw-in or flange versions. Unilateral screw end machining for the fixed bearing permits easy combination with LGL bearing units, complete with matching slotted nuts. Special attention was paid to the load capacity of the bearings. For small screw diameters the bearing journal diameter was enlarged by friction welding, thus increasing the load capacity of the end bearing arrangement. Less stringent tolerances enable very economical solutions. For example, the mounted nut is always with clearance. Seals are integrated as standard. eLINE ball screws make your design work easier and minimize your ordering effort.

3. Drive Units with Ball Screw

With its AOK, AGK and FAR drive units, Rexroth offers ready-to-install solutions with a driven screw and stationary nut or with a stationary screw and driven nut which meet all the expectations of a classical ball screw in a single unit.

3.1 AGK and AOK Drive Units

AGK and AOK drive units from Rexroth allow you to increase speeds on long strokes by a factor of up to 5. Rexroth supplies the drive units complete with screws, with nuts in nut mounts, and with pillow block units. Depending on the version, the ball screws of the new series are available in any length up to 6,000 mm; on request they can be had with several screw supports for horizontal installation. The motor connections, the side drive with timing belt and the flange with coupling all comply with standard Rexroth dimensions.

3.2 FAR Drive Units

As an alternative, Rexroth now offers ball screws with upright screws and driven nuts optionally with toothed-belt drive (FAR) in order to enhance system characteristics further still. The concept of an upright screw enables new drive solutions such as the arrangement of several motors on one screw.

3.3 Electromechanical Actuators with Ball Screw

The series of electromechanical actuators with ball screw from Rexroth enables high feed speeds even with heavy loads. All important components come from Rexroth's service-proven range of standard products, including three different stepping and servo motors with various performance profiles.

4. Electromechanical Actuators with Ball Screw

The new series of electromechanical actuators with ball screw from Rexroth enables high feed speeds even with heavy loads. All important components come from Rexroth's service-proven range of standard products, including three different stepping and servo motors with various performance profiles. The mechanism is based on the tried and tested rolling precision ball screw drives in all common combinations of diameter and pitch. Performance characteristics such as precision of positioning, axial load and speed can be optimized in accordance with the requirements of the individual application. Using a screw drive rules out the stick-slip effect associated with other designs and increases the repeat accuracy of the overall system. By using ideally-dimensioned inclined axial roller bearings, the load rating of the ball screw drive can be utilized to the maximum. There is an extensive range of possibilities to choose from in the drive configuration and the fastening elements. The new components fully comply with protection class IP65, and thanks to the use of corrosion-resistant material are ideal for applications in packaging systems with frequent cleaning cycles. Similarly, the robust combination of power and speed promise substantial benefits in dosing and processing systems, in machine tools and woodworking machines, and in general automation. Electric or pneumatic? Rexroth also has a comprehensive portfolio of pneumatic piston rod cylinders. Pneumatic solutions are suitable mainly for adopting 2 fixed positions. We recommend the EMC electromechanical actuator for variable, free positioning with different speed profiles.

5. Screw Assembly with Front Lubrication Unit

The new Rexroth VSE front lubrication unit for screw drives in diameters of 20, 25, 32 and 40 offers the lowest Total Cost of Ownership: without maintenance attention or central lubrication it provides optimum lubrication for up to 300 million revolutions or 5 years of operation in normal conditions. With the new VSE front lubrication unit for diameter 20, 25, 32 and 40 ball screw assemblies, Rexroth dramatically lowers ball screw total cost of ownership. Requiring no maintenance, and eliminating the need for a central lubrication system, the new front lubrication unit provides up to 300 million revolutions or 5 years of optimal lubrication under normal operating conditions. The plastic VSE for driven screws combines an open-pore foam with an oil tank. Only one VSE per ball nut is required for optimal results, giving machine builders a tremendous flexibility to integrate the space-saving VSE into existing assemblies. The unit is compatible with almost all catalog ball nuts and can be used in both horizontal and vertical applications. Rexroth supplies the front lubrication unit completely assembled and ready to install in connection with a completely machined ball screw assembly. Optimizing lubrication at the minimum quantity required over the entire functional ball screw lifetime protects the environment and reduces the time and costs spent on maintenance in many applications with typical production environments, such as automation and handling, electrical and electronic systems, and medical engineering.
