1. Go to the following website: http://www.law.cornell.edu/supct/index.html 2. This is the Cornell University Law Schools Legal Information Institute site related to U.S. Supreme Court cases. 3. Select a U.S. Supreme Court case of your choice. It can be one from the current term, one from the courts first term or any case in between. 4. The case you select should include a dissenting opinion. 5. After you have read the case, prepare a five to seven page, doublespaced, type-written paper discussing the following: a. What was the case about? b. What were the facts of the case? c. What were the major issues invovlved? d. What did the Court decide? e. Why did the dissenting opinion disagree with the majority opinion? f. What impact, if any, did the opinion have on our government/society? g. Did you agree or disagree with the decision of the Court?
