This book explains the different types of depression. It includes the 4 main types

of depression which is reactive depression, endogenous depression, post-natal depression

and bipolar disorder. Besides that, the causes of depression are also included. There are

many causes of depression which ranges from mental to physical problems. Many

treatments for depression are also explained.

This newspaper article says that drug use and sex are causes of depression. It is said that

adolescents that self-medicate depression with sex and drugs appears to overlook the

possibility that sexual behavior and substance use may precede or predict depression. A

new study also suggests that adolescents, particularly girls, who are engaged in sexual

behavior and drug use are at risk for future depression.

stated that the standard treatment for depression is a combination of antidepressant

medication and therapy. However there are many other medicines which can be used to

treat depression but self help is said to be the best way to treat depression.
