(a). x(x2 + 6) – 33 (b). x3 – 6ex – 3 √x + 11
5
(c). /x + 6/(1+x) - 41ex (d). x3/2 + x -1/2 + x-5/2

2. Use integration by parts to evaluate the following:

a. ln x dx

b. If the firm’s cash outflow since time t = 0 has been E = t2 + 70 thousands per
month, find the firm’s net cash flow after t months.

7. With t weeks of experience on the job, a worker can produce y = 200 – 100 e –0.3t units of
product per week. Find the worker’s average weekly productivity over his or her
a. first month on the job
b. second month on the job
c. fifth month on the job.
