Film Study Comparison Task - Paragraph 2 DRAFT

Australia is represented differently as a place to live in both of the films Rabbit Proof Fence and The Man From Snowy River. For a start in Rabbit Proof Fence life depicts a hot harsh desert environment while The Man From Snowy River depicts life in the temperate Victorian mountains. In Rabbit Proof Fence a place called Jigalong is an aboriginal community run by white people while in The Man From Snowy River is a white community more like an English settler colony. In The Man From Snowy River there is a closer community and people are more respected. In The Man From Snowy River the living conditions are generally good with reasonable food, water and shelter. In the Rabbit Proof Fence, the living conditions are difficult with limited shelter and small amounts of food. Both films clearly represent Australia differently as a place to live.
