Poem Levi Coffin
Poem Levi Coffin
You helped us, freed us from slavery. The U.S behind us, a free country in front of me. For thirty-three years, you freed over 3,000 black slaves hiding us in your house hope is what you gave keeping our plight quiet as a mouse. The Underground railway is the root we took. hiding in carts during the day never knowing were to look. Sharing our sorrow knowing what was right. You risked your safety helping us in our fight. We thank you, Levi Coffin for now we are free it's because of you, Coffin that we are in Canada, free.
