Business issue
MARTA is the ninth largest transit system in the U.S. Like many public transportation agencies, it has had its share of change and restructuring in recent years. On the move to achieve ambitious goals, new CEO and General Manager Nathaniel P. Ford, Sr., recognized the value of training and was committed to investing in MARTAs people. In MARTAs Back to Basics philosophy, one of the five key components is employee development. The challenge? Managers from diverse backgrounds demonstrated different skill levels and had varying degrees of management knowledge. All needed to be brought up to speed, fast. Heres where AMA could help.
Real-world results
From gaining self-awareness to inspiring and motivating others, the AMA training program we offered to our Directors not only sharpened their management skills, it brought a new level of energy and commitment to management success, says Nathaniel P. Ford, Sr. The feedback from employees was overwhelmingly positivewhich confirmed in my mind that we had made the right decision. In the months since the training course, I have heard many examples of real world results. As a result, MARTA is moving forward to reach its goals, driven by a re-energized management team.
