How to add datafile using SAPDBA

1) Login as ORA<sid>, and execute SAPDBA


2) Type C for Tablespace administration
3) Type A and enter tablespace name you wish to add datafile into
4) Type F (Alter database <tablespace name> add data file) to proceed with adding data
file.
5) To choose which available disk space is suitable, type F (Select new path from a list of
file systems) and enter the number.
6) To change the size of a data file, go back to the “Alter tablespace <tablespace name>
add data file” screen and type C (New Size : <size>) and press Enter.
7) To proceed, type S to start adding data file.
8) After data file has been created successfully, system will prompt and ask if user wants
to backup the new data file. It is always a good practice to always backup new data
file. Type yes and enter.
9) Backup Database screen will appear. Type S (Start BRBACKUP (v6.20)) to start backup.
After BRBACKUP is finish, the whole procedure is complete.
