Abstract

This study was conducted in the cultivation of broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica)
which aimed to assess crop production efficiency in response to organic and inorganic
fertilization. We used the open system and temporary it was determined the appropriate
dose for the production of broccoli, the cultivation yield.
Eleven treatments were applied, which were applied in three stages are; stem cell
transplant, 20 day after transplantation, 50 day after transplantation, the application was
made directly to the ground, the evaluation period was included in the autumn-winter 2009,
during which the variables were evaluated: leaf are index, stem diameter, plant height,
biomass, days to inflorescence appearance and yield.
The design was used in the experiment was randomized block, which consisted of five
blocks, each block with eleven experimental units and four plants per experimental unit.
The treatment that showed the best results in cultivation yield of broccoli was the
vermicompost, with a dose of 133 g in each application, so it is concluded that organic
fertilizer application positively affected crop production studied and showing the best
results for their use.
