Windows XP Embedded Remote Boot Service Configuration Quick Step by Step Guide

1. Install the Windows Server 2003 R2 on your system first. 2. Modify your network configuration as Static IP address. 3. Run Manage Your Server to add Domain Controller (Active Directory). 4. Use default setting , click Next. 5. In the installation process , it may need to insert the Server 2003 CD in your CD-ROM. 6. When it finished , you will see the picture like below.

7. Click Finish and Restart your computer Now. 8. After reboot , AD server was ready on your system. 9. In the Manage Your Server , DC & DNS server will appear like below.

10. Run the command line tool , type below command. ipconfig/all ; you will see the IP configure information 11. Follow [Step 3 8] to add the DHCP server. 12. Type the Scope Name (anything you like). 13. Set a range of IP address for scope. 14. Choose Yes, I want to configure. 15. Add an IP to be Default Gateway , click Next. 16. Type the Server Name (anything you like) , and set the IP forward to localhost (127.0.0.1) , then click Next. 17. Choose Yes, I want to active this scope now. 18. The New Scope Wizard was completed , click Finish.

19. You finished the DHCP server. 20. Run CMD.EXE , type following command below. Netsh Dhcp server Add optiondef 60 PXEClient string 0 comment=PXE support Set optionvalue 60 string PXEClient Exit

21. In the DHCP server , click Manage the DHCP server.

22. Check 060 PXEClient was on DHCP Scope Option.

23. Authorize your DHCP server.

24. Restart the scope of DHCP server. 25. You will see the DHCP server was Active. 26. Open Remote Boot Manager & setting the boot server as your IP.
