Lesson Plan 2 Social Studies: Middle America; Mayas and Aztecs Objective: The students will read the

section out loud as a group, then be given worksheets that can be used as study guides for the upcoming test. Materials: Textbook Vocabulary worksheet Map of Middle America Markers Pencil Lesson: 1) The students will begin by taking turns reading the chapter out loud. 2) Once we have read the section we will go over the highlighted vocabulary. 3) The students will then receive a map of Middle America 4) On the map the student will refer to the map of the Aztecs and Mayas and color their map to match the one in the book. Checking the students understanding: I will check for the students progress by asking questions while we are reading. This will allow me to understand if the are processing the information they are reading. I will also look over their maps to see how they are able to look at information in their text and copy it to another form.
