Re: Launching of Malacca Adventures From The Past at Portuguese Settlement Since they first stepped on Malaysian shores over five centuries ago, the Portuguese have had a long and colourful history. Their customs, culture have been long known to Malaysians. Their very own settlement, commonly known as the Portuguese settlement in Malacca has drawn visitors, local and foreign in the numbers yearly. Over the years the numbers must be legion. To coincide with your first visit to the Portuguese settlement on ... May 2011, we would like to take this opportunity to invite Datuk Seri to launch two fictional novels set in old Malacca by Joe Conceicao, a writer of Malacca - Portuguese descent. As Malaysians, we can be proud that a local is inspired to gather his thoughts in the writing of these novels. As fellow Malaysians, in true 1Malaysian spirit, we salute his efforts.
