Creating a Gtol on a hole surface 1. Select the hole that need the Gtol.

2. Select Insert Datum Axis from the menu.

3. Use query select to select the surface.

4. Ok

5. Now that the datum axis has been created it now needs to be renamed. Highlight it and select properties.

6. Select the name and change it to the next letter.

7. In this case C.

8. Select the middle type A

9. Ok.

10. The datum axis is now renamed to the letter chosen, in this case C.

11. Open the drawing that the datum needs to be shown in.

12. Select show/erase on the menu. Select the axis and datum buttons only, and select View.

13. Select the view to show the datum axis in and accept.

14. The datum need to be modified to suit our standard. In the bottom right hand corner choose Datum Axis from the menu (this makes it easier to pick it).

15. Select the Datum axis that was created, and click ok.

16. The placement radio button needs selecting and click on the Pick Geom... button

17. Use Query select and select the edge that requires the Datum attached to it.

18. Ok.

19. If there is a gtol already created and a new datum needs to be added, here the C needs to be added.

20. Use query select on the tect for the dimension and pick the (GTOL) from the list.

21. Select the Datum Refs tab and add the datum from the drop down menu. Ok.

22. Added gtol.
