Also, the Americans thought Kyoto was sacred to the Japanese and that they would never be forgiven for destroying the city. The cities also had educated people who could understand the bombs destructive force and that their geography was ideal. 2. It made Japan surrender sooner than was expected without the bomb. It also saved the lives of the soldiers who were supposed to invade Japan. 3. He is relieved to move on and that lives were saved due to the bomb. 8. It was right to drop the bomb since it made the Japanese surrender sooner than if strategic bombing was used on every city. Bombing every city would take more lives than dropping an atom bomb on one city.
